About

Point source carbon capture technology intercepts carbon dioxide at the exhaust of industrial facilities before it reaches the atmosphere. Applications span natural gas power plants, cement kilns, steel furnaces, refineries, and chemical plants. For sectors where direct electrification remains uneconomic or technically constrained, point source capture provides a near-term decarbonisation pathway while alternative production processes mature. The captured CO₂ can be permanently stored in geological formations or used as an industrial feedstock. Post-combustion capture is the most widely deployed approach, though pre-combustion and oxy-fuel designs are also advancing.
